Hartenstein: NBA title would be “what cool for Germany”

Isaiah Hartenstein plays his first season at the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sport1 spoke to him, among other things, about his commitment to Ratiopharm Ulm.

“I can help a team win,” said the Oklahoma City Thunder center ahead of the finals series.

On the way to his dreamed-of NBA title, his homeland certainly plays a role for Isaiah Hartenstein. “If I were to win, it would also be something cool for Germany,” said the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball pro before the finals series against the Indiana Pacers.

“I’m also playing for Germany,” Hartenstein emphasized, “it would definitely be an honor to win the title, also to do that for Germany.”

“I have constantly proven myself more and more. Every time I got a chance,” Hartenstein said about his development in the NBA. “I played a lot last year in New York, had a big role. This year I have shown again that I am on the way to being one of the best in the league,” Hartenstein said: “I can help a team win.”

The 2.13m giant’s NBA career began in 2018 with the Houston Rockets, it went via the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks to OKC last year, with which team Hartenstein stormed to the best regular season record in the league.

Oklahoma therefore starts the finals with two home games, and a decisive seventh game would also take place at home.
