Ulm, the champion of 2023, prevails in the decisive fifth semi-final game against Würzburg and follows Bayern into the final.
ratiopharm Ulm has followed Bayern Munich into the final of the Basketball Bundesliga.
Coach Ty Harrelson’s team defeated FIT/One Würzburg Baskets in the fifth semi-final duel with 91:84 (50:43) on Thursday. With this success, Ulm won the best-of-five series 3:2 and will now play against Bayern for their second championship after 2023.
Karim Jallow led Ulm with 18 points to the celebrated victory, Ben Saraf scored 16 points for the hosts. Game one against Bayern will be next Sunday (6:00 p.m.) in Munich.
Here too, the team that wins three games first secures the victory – and thus the title.
In the final, the top seed Bayern will meet the second-placed Ulm. For the defending champion, the seventh German championship is a must after coach Gordon Herbert’s team previously missed out on the cup victory and the targeted EuroLeague playoffs.
Ulm plays freely with young talents such as Saraf and Noa Essengue, who could make the leap into the NBA in the upcoming draft.
