The Italian could soon coach Robin Gosens.
Stefano Pioli is no longer the coach of the Saudi club Al-Nassr. According to media reports, Pioli is about to join the Italian first division soccer club AC Fiorentina, which includes national player Robin Gosens.
The club did not provide any information about the reasons for the separation. “Al-Nassr announces that Mr. Pioli and his team will no longer coach the first team. We would like to thank Mr. Pioli and his team for their work last season,” it said in a statement on the short message service X.
Pioli took over Al-Nassr last September and finished his first season with the club from Riyadh in third place. For the 59-year-old, it would be a return to one of his many former places of work. He already coached Fiorentina from 2017 to 2019 and was also active there as a player. Pioli has also coached top clubs such as Lazio Rome, Inter Milan and AC Milan. He won the title with Milan in 2022.
