The superstar did not play in the recent three games. He should now reappear in the Concacaf Champions Cup – and could celebrate a premiere.
After three games without use, Superstar Lionel Messi will probably come back for the US club Inter Miami. According to Miami’s coach Javier Mascherano, the Argentinian should travel to Jamaica for the next game. There, Inter meets Cavalier FC on Thursday evening in the Concacaf Champions Cup on Thursday evening (local time) in the round of 16 second leg.
Mascherano said on Wednesday that you would decide on the match day “what the best thing is – whether he is in the starting eleven or waiting on the bench and will be substituted later”. An assignment would be a premiere for the eight -time world footballer: Messi has already played against the Jamaican national team, but never played on the Caribbean island.
Mascherano made it clear that Messi had already trained with the team again: “The impressions were good.”
Most recently, the coach granted the 37-year-old a breather, Messi was not used for three games. On Sunday, however, the world star had already sitting on the bench against Charlotte FC.
In the first leg of the round of 16 in the previous week, Miami had won a 2-0 home win without Messi. A nation stadium in Kingston, sold out with 35,000 spectators, is expected for the second leg.
