That comes as a surprise! Luke Littler isn’t taking a break after his triumph at the World Grand Prix. The 18-year-old is participating in another tournament on Monday, astonishing the SPORT1 experts.
Luke Littler has completely surprisingly announced that he will be playing in the World Youth Championship of Darts on Monday.
After his debut triumph at the World Grand Prix, where he didn’t give Luke Humphries the slightest chance in the final (6:1 in sets), Littler was asked on stage by Sky presenter Abigail Davies whether he would actually be taking part in the Junior World Championship in Wigan on Monday?

Littler? “That’s a sensation”
“It’s true. I will be taking part in the Junior World Championship tomorrow. I’ll just have a bit of fun and meet everyone. I don’t think anyone will be my friend tomorrow, but it’s only a 20-minute drive. I’ll do my best,” replied Littler.
SPORT1 presenter Basti Schwele was completely baffled by the decision of the 18-year-old high-flyer. “He’s really playing in the Youth World Championship tomorrow. That’s a sensation,” said Schwele. “It honors him too,” added SPORT1 expert Max Hopp.
Littler in action at the Players Championship
On Tuesday and Wednesday, two more tournaments are scheduled for Littler. The Players Championship tournaments 31 and 32 are on the program and are also taking place in Wigan. So Hopp wants to be in action there.
At the end of October, the last two Players Championship tournaments will then take place (numbers 33 and 34 – also in Wigan).
To qualify for the Players Championship Finals 2025, Littler still needs to improve. Only the top 64 players in the Players Championship Order of Merit are eligible to participate.
Littler is currently only in position 70 there with £21,000 in prize money. SPORT1 expert Hopp currently holds rank 60 (£23,500 in prize money) and would currently be qualified for the final tournament.
