After victory in Graz: Schindler number 18 in the world

A German Darts professional has never been better placed in the world rankings.

Martin Schindler won his third tournament on the European Tour and wrote German Darts history. The 28-year-old prevailed on Sunday in the final of the Austrian Darts Open in Graz against the Englishman Ross Smith 8: 4. With his fourth PDC tournament victory, Schindler climbed in 18th place in the world rankings.

“The Wall” trumped his compatriot Gabriel Clemens, who had previously held 19th place in the world rankings that the best placement of a German player until then. In Austria, Schindler had played into the final with victories over Matthew Dennant (England), Kevin Doets (Netherlands), Premier League participant Chris Dobey (England) and Josh Rock (Northern Ireland).
