Again! Darts legend throws the next 9-darter

The nine-darter is considered magical. In the meantime, however, he succeeds in increasing the darts stars - does the record fall again in 2025?

Gary Anderson ensures the highlight of the Players Championship 9 in Leicester. But someone else grabs the title on Monday.

Gary Anderson provided the big highlight of the Players Championship 9! The “Flying Scotsman” threw a 9-darter in the first round of the tournament in Leicester, English and crowned an already sensational match.

In the duel with the Poland Krzysztof Ratajski Anderson initially equalized with a 12-darter to 2: 2 and then added the 9-darter to 3: 2. This was followed by an 11-darter and a 15-darter from the “Flying Scotsman”, in the end the two-time world champion won 6: 5. He showed an average of 115.66 points.

In the 2nd game, Anderson met Niko Springer from Germany and delivered the next exciting exchange of blows with this – both players scored over 109 points on average. Again the 54-year-old prevailed, this time 6: 3.

His strong initial form and his 9-darter, by the way, his second within a few weeks, but then Anderson no longer helped. In the third round he had to delete the sail against his Scottish compatriot Cameron Menzies (3: 6).

Price storms to victory

It went better for Gerwyn Price. The Welsh defeated Robert Grundy (6: 4), Keane Barry (6: 2), Nathan Rafferty (6: 4), Dave Chisnall (6: 2), Niels Zonneveld (6: 3) and Brendan Dolan (7: 0) before he also decided in the final with Ian White (8: 4).

Price played particularly strongly in the semi -finals against Dolan when he posted an impressive average of 114.36. For “The Iceman” it is the second ranking title this season after winning the Player Championship 2.

“It is nice to win another victory, that gives confidence for tomorrow (Players Championship Ten) and the Premier League on Thursday,” said Price afterwards.
