England legend Geoff Hurst verbally attacked Jude and Jobe Bellingham’s father. An incident in the Dortmund locker room area left the World Cup hero stunned.
England legend Geoff Hurst publicly raged against Mark Bellingham, father of Jude and Jobe Bellingham, and sharply criticized the 49-year-old for his behavior.
Hurst, scorer of the legendary Wembley goal in the 1966 World Cup final between England and Germany, primarily addressed an incident that allegedly occurred in August at Hamburg’s Millerntor stadium.
Mark Bellingham has been banned from the BVB locker room
“What bothered me was a picture in one of the newspapers about the most powerful man in English football – namely Jude Bellingham’s father,” Hurst recently said at an event in Bristol.
“He complained when his son was substituted in a game – and that’s an absolute joke. If you don’t put a stop to something like that, it’s an absolute disgrace.”

Specifically, Hurst referred to reports that circulated after Borussia Dortmund’s away game at FC St. Pauli (3:3) on August 23.
At the time, Bild reported that Mark Bellingham immediately after the game sought a conversation with BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl in the locker room area and made no secret of his dissatisfaction with his son Jobe’s substitution at halftime.
“This won’t happen again”
BVB sports managing director Lars Ricken somewhat downplayed the incident a few days later and emphasized that it was “no problem,” but confirmed that such an incident would not be repeated in the future. Kehl also imposed a locker room ban on the Englishman and made clear: “This will not happen again.”
Mark Bellingham once gave up his job as a police officer to manage his two sons’ careers full-time. Things are not going as hoped for Jobe Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund. In 13 competitive games so far, he has only played 528 minutes and is mostly just a substitute under Kovac.
