The French biathlete Pauline Machut ends her career at the age of 21.
The French woman Pauline Machut ended her biathlon career at the age of 21. This was announced by the young biathlete on Instagram.
“This time it’s over. I am retired,” Machut wrote in an emotional farewell statement.
“Since I was small, biathlon has been part of my life. It was a bit my way to live,” said the only 21-year-old. “I had dreams without really knowing where they would lead me.”
“I am still proud of my trip”
“Today the circle closed. It is time for me to open a new chapter. I decided that this season was the last one for me,” added the French woman. “It’s not an easy decision.”
The jump to the large biathlon stage was denied to her in her career, so she has now made her peace.
“I was appointed in three international selection teams in which I did my best. Of course I dreamed of more, but I’m still proud of my trip,” she did not make a secret of his burst dream, but was still cleared up. She now wants to dedicate her full attention to her studies.
Machut started her career in the French junior team and took part in several disciplines at the European Junior Championship in Altenberg. In the 2023/24 season she competed in the IBU Junior Cup. Last weekend she played her last competition at the French championships in Les Saisies.
