It is still unclear what the retired biathlon Star Johannes Thingnes Bö is Planning Exactly after his career. Does the announcement of a sponsorship deal now provide information about his future?
For Johannes Thingnes Bö, life after his biathlon career begins. The long-time dominant force in the scene ended his career at the end of March after the final World Cup weekend in Oslo and wants to spend more time with his family in the future.
Although Bö has left his professional life and, for the time being, the biathlon scene behind him, he remains loyal to the sport itself. His new sponsorship deal also speaks for this. The 32-year-old announced that he will be working with the German sporting goods manufacturer adidas in the future. It is unclear how Bö wants to represent the brand, but he showed himself with adidas running shoes in the corresponding Instagram post.
Bö Complete helped marathon: “Must Maintain My Form”
Although little is known about Bö’s further plans, it is quite likely that the Norwegian will be seen more often in running shoes. After all, he completed a half marathon at the beginning of May.
With his time of 1:20:19 hours, the former biathlete was not entirely satisfied because he missed his target time by 19 seconds. “It was a wake-up call that I have to maintain my form,” he explained afterwards in an interview with the Norwegian broadcaster TV2.
“I have no plans for the future yet. The plan is to figure out what the plan is,” he kept everything open for his future in the same interview.
Biathlon Expert? Many speculation about Bö’s Future
There has already been speculation about a career as a TV expert and a position in the Norwegian association. He has also received an offer to appear in a reality TV series, which he has rejected according to his own statements. In any case, there is little to suggest that Bö sees himself in biathlon sports or TV business in the near future.
Bö has repeatedly made it clear that he primarily wants to spend a lot of time at home with his family. The long-time biathlon giant has two children with his wife Hedda.
