Sensation missed by a hair’s breadth! Yorick Hofkens narrowly failed to beat Cameron Menzies on his European Tour debut, but was completely convincing.
Despite a 5:3 lead, Hofkens was ultimately beaten by the Scotsman 5:6 in legs at the Baltic Sea Darts Open in Kiel.

The German played a strong three-dart average of 92.37 points, Menzies was even better with 100.89 points.
Curious scenes after the match
Hofkens still seemed satisfied with his debut, beamed all over his face after the narrow defeat and clapped Menzies several times.
Then the two hugged intimately, the German youngster even got a few kisses on the cheek from “Cammy” before hugging again.
Menzies almost threw a 9-darter during his comeback.
At a score of 3:5 in legs, the 36-year-old threw eight perfect darts, but the last dart sailed just over the double 12 and the rare feat failed to materialize.
Menzies is challenged by the Englishman Ryan Searle in the round of 16.
