Spain’s women’s basketball team has reached the semi-finals of the European Championship after a comeback. The co-favorite defeats the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals in Piraeus despite some problems.

The co-favorite defeated the Czech Republic 88-81 (33-44) in the quarter-finals in Piraeus on Wednesday. In the semi-finals, the reigning vice-European champion will face France, silver medalist at the Olympic Games in Paris, on Friday.

The best scorer for the Spaniards, who were temporarily 14 points behind after a weak start, was Raquel Carrera with 31 points. For the Czech Republic, Petra Holesinska scored 23 points. Spain is aiming for its fifth European Championship title in Greece after 1993, 2013, 2017, 2019. In the group stage in Hamburg, Carrera and Co. defeated the Germans 79-60, among others.
