Bavaria loses “unimportant” top game

The former series master makes Rasta Vechta clearly and improves his chances of moving into the Play-in tournament with the twelfth win of the season.

Munich was unable to refuel with Istanbul for the duel on Thursday.

The dress rehearsal of basketball champion Bayern Munich for his “final” in the Euroleague for direct entry into the quarter-finals has failed. In the Bundesliga summit with pursuer Ratiopharm Ulm, the defending champion collected a 94: 109 (51:57) defeat shortly before the important main round end of the continental elite class on Thursday against Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Despite the first zero number on a national parquet after four wins in a row, the Bayern are located six game days before the start of the KO phase just ahead of their predecessors as the title holder at the top of the table.

Herbert would have liked to do without top game

Munich coach Gordon Herbert, however, had taken almost any pressure before the trip to the Danube with a view to the following showdown with Istanbul.

“It is not ideal that we still have to play in front of Fener. We try what we can do. We cannot train, we have to play,” said Germany’s world champion coach, playing the fundamental importance of final placement in the league table in view of the quality of his team.

Accordingly, only Johannes Voigtmann and Justus Hollatz stood on the floor from Munich’s world champion quartet at the beginning of the game. From the first minute, Ulm, on the other hand, pushed for a revenge for the 62: 70 loss only three weeks ago in the first leg on the Isar. Bayern were able to take the lead twice with a maximum of two points before the break, otherwise the home side were tone.

Alfonso plummer with 29 points was an outstanding thrower in the team of Ulms Coach Ty Harrelson. Carsen Edwards came to 23 points as the most successful Bayern player.

Munich’s focus these days is aimed exclusively on the Euroleague game against Fenerbahce. As the table seventh, Bayern already have a place in the Play-in tournament, but through a win against the Turkish top team, Herbert’s team could already remove all the residual doubts in Munich’s third participation in the quarter-finals.
