Alba Berlin qualifies through a detour for the playoffs. However, the season ran for the Rostock Seaawolves.
Basketball vice champion Alba Berlin has reached the playoffs after a very moderate regular season in the Bundesliga in the first seating and can still hope for a conciliatory annual financial statements.
The former series champion won the Play-in start against Cup winner Syntainics MBC 81:78 (43:32) and thus qualified for the quarter-finals against ex-title carriers Ratiopharm Ulm without further detour.
Bavaria’s opponent still open
The MBC will play against the last free playoff place against EWE Baskets Oldenburg on Thursday. Master and main round winner Bayern Munich are waiting for the winner of this duel.
Oldenburg won the second play-in against the Rostock Seawolves 95:83 (45:45). The season is over for the wolves.
The playoffs start on Saturday. The opening date for the final series is June 15th.
Alba early dominant
After a concentrated initial phase at the beginning of the second quarter, Berlin took command, developed a calming lead and then brought his upholstery over time. The best Alba thrower was Malte Delow with 18 points. In the guest team, Spencer Reaves came to 21 points as the most successful player.
In Oldenburg, Justin Jaworski had a private duel for the hosts and Rostocks Bryce Hamilton. In the final accounts, Hamilton had five points more than his adversary with 45 points, but Jaworski remained with his team through the success in the race for the play-off participation.
