Alba Berlin has solidified second place in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) with their latest victory. The former serial champions won 84:82 (46:46) against Rasta Vechta on Sunday.
For now, the gap to league leaders Bayern Munich is four points – although the champions will play MLP Academics Heidelberg this evening (6:00 PM).
BBL: Wood Top Scorer for Alba
Moses Wood was Berlin’s top scorer with 19 points; It was Alba’s fifth consecutive victory. No other team in the BBL can currently boast such a streak.
Last weekend, Bayern surprisingly lost to ratiopharm Ulm at home, and the vice-champions followed up with another important victory on Sunday: Ulm defeated strongly promoted team Gladiators Trier (22 points) 97:67 (34:35) and moved up to the top group of the league.
