The Baskets would have needed a win against Heidelberg to book the final round. Instead, the winning streak tore.
The Würzburg Baskets missed the early move into the playoffs of the basketball Bundesliga. The Franks, whose construction actor Jhivvan Jackson had been awarded the league (MVP) of the league on Wednesday, lost 85:10 against the MLP Academics Heidelberg in their own hall and had to accept the end of their winning streak. Most recently, Würzburg had won six times in a row, another success would have meant the ticket for the playoffs.
The Niners Chemnitz are now very close to the final round after a heavily won 93:88 at the Hamburg Towers. If Alba Berlin did not win against BG Göttingen on Thursday (6.30 p.m./Dyn), the Chemnitzer would certainly be qualified.
Würzburg’s Jackson came up with a strong 25 points, but the top scorer of the game was Heidelberg’s Damariae Horne with 28 points. Chemnitz turned up in time after a weak initial quarter, especially Victor Bailey (23 points) was hard to stop.
