Before 14. Gold: Kläbo waves the World Cup record in the season

Record hunter: Johannes Hösflot Kläbo

Norwegian Johannes Hösflot Kläbo could become a record man on Thursday and replace his compatriot Petter Northug as the most successful cross-country skier in World Cup history.

The Norwegian Johannes Hösflot Kläbo can win his 14th gold medal at Nordic World Championships in Trondheim on Thursday and thus replace his compatriot Petter Northug as the most successful cross-country skier in World Cup history. The Norwegians are over 4×7.5 km from 2 p.m. Only Kläbo’s compatriot Marit Björgen would have brought more Nordic World Cup title, who resigned after her 18th gold.

At the Norwegian relay victory, Kläbo would win his fifth title in the ongoing competitions in his hometown and equalize with the Russian cross -country skier Jelena Wälbe, who had also achieved the only “five -pack” at a World Cup in Trondheim in 1997.

On Saturday, Kläbo over 50 km would even have the chance of a historic sixth gold. In Trondheim, he has triumphed in the sprint, team sprint, skiathlon and over 10 km. Kläbos Landswehr Therese Johaug still has two gold chances in the cross-country skiing relay on Friday and over 50 km on Sunday. The 36-year-old, who is currently at 14 titles, could get 16 gold medals in her big career.
