In the sprint over 10 km, the new coach Tobias Reiter cannot change the German misery.
The German biathletes once again disappointed in the first World Cup race under the new national coach Tobias Reiter and even missed the top 15 in the victory of Emilia Jacquelin.
At the sprint by Nove Mesto, the first competition after the World Cup in Lenzerheide, Justus Strelow, as the best athlete of the German Ski Association (DSV), took a 19th place.
Rider couldn’t change the misery of German men this winter. The 39-year-old took responsibility after the surprising resignation of Uros Velepec after the World Cup. He is supposed to trace the team to the Success Rau with a view of the Olympics.
DSV team with a total of 15 errors
Initially there was a bitter setback in the Czech Republic in the race over 10 km. The six DSV starters made a total of 15 shooting errors and therefore had no chance again. The prospects are also modest for the pursuer on Saturday (2:55 p.m.) over 12.5 km.
The Frenchman Jacquelin won his fifth World Cup after a flawless shooting performance with a 17.2 second lead over the Italian Tommaso Giacomel (1/+19.8 seconds).
Bö shortens distance to Lächreid
Third was record world champion Johannes Thingnes Bö (+20.9). The dominator missed his 80th World Cup single win with two shooting errors, but was able to make sure in the struggle for the yellow jersey floor on the still leading Sturla Holm Lächreid (14th).
Strelow was 1: 12.2 minutes behind Jacquelin with a shooting error. Philipp Nawrath (2/+1: 20.9), Philipp Horn (3/+1: 27.6), David Zobel (1/1: 28.8), Danilo Riethmüller (4/+2: 04.3) and Johannes Kühn (4/+2: 25.4) were even more behind.
