At the first win of Sweden Sebastian Samuelsson, only Philipp Horn comes to the top 20.
The misery of the German biathletes also continues in the second race in the Czech Nove Mesto. In the persecution of over 12.5 km, none of the athletes of the German Ski Association (DSV) made it among the top 15th best DSV ski hunters in the victory of the Sweden, Sebastian Samuelsson, which is flawless in the shooting, was Philipp Horn in 19 (+2: 28.5 minutes/four shooting errors).
The new national coach Tobias Reiter, who had taken over after the surprising resignation of Urus Velepec, saw again a weak shooting performance in sunshine and spring -like 16 degrees. At the sprint on Thursday, the men’s selection had counted a total of 15 misconceptions and thus got a good starting point for the persecution – on Saturday it was even 24. The calm at the shooting range demanded by DSV sports director Felix Bitterling only had Justus Strelow (a shooting error, 22nd place).
Philipp Nawrath came over the finish line (+3: 09.6, four errors), David Zobel was 38.
The Swede Samuelsson celebrated his first win of the season with a 26.4 second lead over Tommaso Giacomel from Italy. Third was record world champion Johannes Thingnes Bö (+38.7). The dominator missed his 80th World Cup one with three shooting errors, but was able to conquer the lead in the overall World Cup from his buddy and compatriot Sturla Holm Lächreid (5th place) and now lead with five points.
