Biathlon: Special honor for Prussia

Franziska Preuß achieved sensational success last season. Now the German biathlete was honored with another award.

Franziska Preuss was awarded another time for her fabulous season 2024/25: The German biathlete received the “Golden Henne” in the “Sport” category at the weekend. “Of course I am very happy to have the hen at home now. Every athlete is happy when you move people. It means a lot to me,” she said.

The 31-year-old was not on site at the award ceremony in Leipzig. Instead, moderator and singer Florian Silbereisen visited her during a training session in Ruhpolding and brought her the price. Prussia made it all the happier that she was not chosen by a jury of experts, but by the audience.

“Everything that is still coming is encore”

“I think that just makes biathlon sport, you can tell, there is simply a fan culture behind it. It is incredibly fun to run to full stadiums – here too in Ruhpolding,” emphasized Preuss, who has had the best winter of her career.
