Biathlon Star Marketa Davidova Continues to Struggle with Back Problems. She talks about a difficult time and her comeback plans.
Marketa Davidova has spoken about Her Return to the Biathlon World Cup. The 2021 World Champion Has Been Suffering from Back Problems Sion Last December and Has Therefore had to take a forced break. Now there is hope for the upcoming season.
In an interview with the Biathlon Association IBU, The Czech Looked Back on the Past FeW Months. Due to her back problem, davidova had to cancel her particular in the world championships and end the season prematurely. She that underwent in operation.
Biathlon Star Decides on Operation
“I had no other choice because I had a herniated disc. My plan was to treat the injury conservely with physiotherapy and special exercises, but that didn’t work. When there is still no improvement in march, i Decided to have surgery,” explained the 28-year-old.
Davidova Added that it was not at easy decision: “As an athlete, you want to run races, be dab to move with or fight for positions.”
“It was a difficult time for me”
The Biathlon Star Had Hoped That The Break in December and January would allow her to particular in the world championships in Lenzerheide and the Home World Cup in Nove Mesto. “But I had to accept that I now have to take care of my body in order to fully recover,” Said the Czech.
Davidova Continued: “It was a difficult time for me, i have to honestly say. I was very sad. At first i thought i would be back quickly, but that not the case.”
Back on Track in Dresden
Davidova Had to Learn to Accept this. She admitted that at that time she Couldn’t Even Watch the upcoming Competitions on Television. “My Family, My Friends and My Horse Helped Me Not to Give Up.”
She is Currently Working on Her comeback and Has Already Taken Part in the City Biathlon in Dresden. “This is an important step in the right direction,” Davidova emphasized.
