Celebrated, asked – and soon gone?

The future of Kevin de Bruyne is further speculated. Now the Belgian has commented. A superstar wants to lure him to the master.

Oliver Glasner Achieves Historical Success with Crystal Palace and is Celebrated. The Success Puts Him on the Radar of Other Clubs. How wants to have he decide?

The man of the hour in the southern London district of South Norwood: coach Oliver Glasner.

“That was his achievement. He made us all believe in it, I’m proud,” said club owner Steve Parish to BBC Sport and found: “He has taken us to a new level.”

Glasner himself was typically more reserved: “The greatest achievement is not winning the cup, but the fact that tens of thousands of fans were able to experience such a moment in their lives. This connection will last forever.”

Palace Second to Last at the End of November

The fact that it could come this far was also due to the fact that Parish stuck with the 50-year-old in difficult times. Because: After eight games and the worst start to the Premier League season in the club’s history, Palace was still without a win and even slipped to second to last place in the table four matchdays later.

But Glasner stayed, as was shown around half a year later, completely rightly so.

Above all, the belief in himself and his team brought the Austrian back on the road to success; in the league, the team is in a secure mid-table position in twelfth place. Thanks to the victory in the FA Cup, Palace will even start in the Europa League next season.

A competition that Glasner knows very well, after all he won it with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022.

Will Glasner Stay at Palace?

“We can’t wait,” Parish told Sky UK about the international games: “We know it’s difficult, but we have a coach who has the experience.”

But will Glasner really stay at Palace on the sidelines? Two clubs are said to have already expressed interest – the talk is of RB Leipzig with Global Sports Director Jürgen Klopp and Tottenham Hotspur.

“Oliver will be with us next season. Everyone knows the length of his contract. We have to see and discuss what happens beyond that. We want to try to extend his contract. But it has to be right for everyone,” Parish made clear on Sky UK. Glasner’s contract expires in the summer of 2026.

Glasner: “Write a New Chapter”

Glasner himself told the media after the game that he and the team now wanted to “write a new chapter. Europe for the first time.”

A move is questionable given these statements and the wave of success that Palace and Glasner are currently riding. Especially since Leipzig will not be represented internationally next season – and the Spurs may not be either.

“For Oliver it’s not about money or glamour. He wants to be part of something that is moving in the right direction. We all want that,” said Parish.

The signs point to staying, but the coaching business in football always has surprises in store.
