Starting with the Club World Cup, the number 10 at Chelsea will belong to a new player. The suspended Mykhailo Mudryk, who previously owned this number, will be completely ignored.
FC Chelsea has announced that Cole Palmer will wear the number 10 in the future. “Chelsea can confirm that Cole Palmer will wear the number 10 jersey from the 2025/26 season, starting with the Club World Cup,” the club wrote on its own website.
The club has also posted the star’s new jersey on social media. Chelsea will face Los Angeles FC in their first Club World Cup game (from 9 p.m. in the LIVETICKER).
Mykhailo Mudryk has not played a game for Chelsea in 2025
Will Mudryk no longer play a role?
Previously, the number 10 belonged to Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian moved to London in January 2023 as a great hope for 100 million euros, but has not yet been able to justify the high transfer fee.
In December of last year, Mudryk tested positive for a banned substance. Since then, the Ukrainian has been suspended and has not played a game for Chelsea.
Cole Palmer has scored 37 goals so far
It is currently not known when and under what conditions the suspension will end. The results of the B sample have not yet been published.
Until his suspension, the 24-year-old made 73 appearances for the Blues, scoring ten goals and assisting eleven more.
