Club World Cup: FIFA donates one US dollar per ticket

The donations flow into a 100 million dollar fund that is intended to provide children worldwide “access to high-quality education and football”.

The FIFA World Football Association wants to support disadvantaged children worldwide using the club World Cup in summer. As President Gianni Infantino announced at the Global Citizen Summit in New York, during the tournament in the USA (June 14 to July 13), a US dollar will be donated to a newly furnished fund for each ticket sold.

The “FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund” has set itself the goal of collecting $ 100 million. Together with the world’s leading organization to combat extreme poverty, FIFA wants to “give children in over 200 countries access to high -quality education and football,” said the message. “Football connects the world and in the coming years we will use this unit to improve education for millions of children worldwide,” said Infantino.

In addition to the donations of the FIFA, which has been connected to a four-year partnership with Global Citizen since September 2024, the initiative should “stimulate new companies and individuals” according to the American NGO, and there are also donations for tickets for music and entertainment events worldwide. The first stars like the Canadian singer “The Weeknd” have already promised their support.
