Cross-country skiing: Gimmler has to forego the Tour de Ski

Laura Gimmler has to pass

Sprint specialist Laura Gimmler had secured the best results for the DSV team this winter with two sixth-place finishes.

Hopeful Laura Gimmler must withdraw at short notice from the Tour de Ski for cross-country skiers, which begins on Sunday. The 32-year-old is “not fully fit,” the German Ski Association announced. The Oberstdorf native will therefore be rested with an eye on the Olympic Games in February.

Sprint specialist Gimmler had achieved the best individual results for the DSV team this winter with two sixth-place finishes. This means the 2023 relay vice-world champion will also miss the important classic sprint in Val di Fiemme on January 3, where the Olympic course will be tested.
