Curling: Scotland fetches seventh world title

Switzerland continues to be waiting for the first World Cup success in over 30 years. The hosts secure third place.

The Scottish Curling national team has crowned the world champion for the seventh time. In the final in Moose Jaw/Canada, the Scots won 5: 4 against Switzerland on Sunday and won the title again after 2023. The Swiss, on the other hand, have been waiting for their fourth World Cup success since 1992. Canada closed the home World Cup with the bronze medal, in the game for third place the record world champion China clearly beat 11-2.

The German team had completed the main round in eighth place and thus missed the play-offs, but thanks to five wins, the Uli Kapp team qualified for seven defeats in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo for 2026. Most recently, a DCV team took part in the Winter Olympics in 2014.
