Dimitri Van den Bergh experiences another disappointment at the Players Championship. Despite sporting and mental problems, the Belgian does not want to give up.
Another disappointment for Dimitri Van den Bergh: The Belgian suffered a whitewash in the first round of the third Players Championship tournament in Wigan, losing 0-6 to Czech Karel Sedlacek.
Van den Bergh only scored 76.61 points in the three-dart average. Sedlacek was superior with 86.71 points in the average.

However, the Belgian didn’t want to hide his feelings. “I won’t give up, but it hurts my heart to play so badly,” he confessed.
Van den Bergh is currently going through a difficult time. The 2023 World Championship semi-finalist has had to cope with several setbacks in recent months.

Van den Bergh was still ranked fifth in the world rankings in 2021, won the UK Open in 2020, and reached the semi-finals of the World Cup of Darts four times. In 2023, he fought against Michael van Gerwen for a place in the World Championship final, but lost 0-6 in sets.
