The German national basketball team of women has received a tricky group for the European Championship in summer. This was the result of the draw on Saturday evening in Athens. The team of national coach Lisa Thomaidis meets the four -time European champion Spain, Great Britain and Sweden in Group D. As a co-host, Germany was automatically qualified for the tournament.
The title fights take place from June 18 to 29, the DBB selection will play its group games in the Hamburg Inselpark Arena. Other venues are Brno (Czech Republic), Bologna (Italy) and Piraeus (Greece), where the final round also takes place.
In 2023, the German team ended the European Championship in sixth after the later finalist Spain ended in the quarter -finals. At the Olympic Games in Paris, WNBA-Star Satou Sabally and Co. lost in the quarter-finals against host France.
