The German female speed skaters have won the bronze medal in the team sprint at the European Championships.

The trio of Katja Franzen, Anna Ostlender, and Isabel Kraus finished in Tomaszow Mazowiecki with a time of 1:34.526 minutes, 7.45 seconds behind, only being beaten by the victorious home team from Poland and the second-placed Belgians.

Dress Rehearsal for the Olympic Winter Games

The successful dress rehearsal by the trio from DEC Inzell for the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (February 6-22) was the only podium finish for the Germans on Friday evening at the European Championships in Poland.

In the individual 3000m competition, Ashley Völker (Inzell, 9th) and Melissa Schaefer (Erfurt, 10th) placed among the top ten. In the men’s event, the German quartet finished sixth in the 5000m team pursuit.
