Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold looks back on her collapse at the Olympic Games, which she identifies as the “low point” of her career.
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has looked back on the low point of her career. Due to heart problems and shortness of breath, the Norwegian biathlete fell back shortly before the end of the 2022 Olympic Games and missed the gold medal that was believed to be secure.
She has never watched the TV pictures of the dramatic scenes since then – and doesn’t want to do so in the future either. “I think anyone who has seen the pictures finds them unpleasant,” the biathlete explained when asked by TV2 . “And then you can imagine what it’s like for me. That’s why I have no need for it.”
The timing of the setback was particularly bitter for Tandrevold. “It happened when I was in the best physical condition of my life,” the 29-year-old looked back, who later described the scene as the “low point” of her career.
Biathlon star Tandrevold: “That was of course bad luck”
“I had prepared pretty intensively and wanted to win a medal. That was of course bad luck, but I can’t change anything about it,” said Tandrevold.
The fifth-time World Cup winner is now confident that the problems are a thing of the past.
