Mumbrú leaves hospital
German national basketball coach Àlex Mumbrú traveled home after the European Championship title to receive treatment. Now there is finally positive news.
German national basketball coach Àlex Mumbrú has left the hospital. “I’m feeling better. Today I’m finally going home, no more hospital,” the Spaniard told Bild on Friday.
Mumbrú had traveled to his homeland for treatment after winning the European Championship title, after suffering from pancreatitis during the tournament.

Reportedly lost 16 kilos
Mumbrú spent a total of four weeks in the Barcelona clinic. According to a report by Mundo Deportivo , the 46-year-old is said to have lost about 16 kilograms in weight.
The games of Dennis Schröder and Franz Wagner on the way to the European Championship triumph were managed by his assistant coach Alan Ibrahimagic, but Mumbrú returned to the arena during the tournament and was also sitting directly behind the German bench during the final against Turkey in Riga on Sunday.
However, his influence remained limited, with Ibrahimagic taking over coaching and time-out speeches. Nevertheless, Mumbrú later received his gold medal and also lifted the European Championship trophy.
