Fourth championship title for basketball players from Keltern

The main round winner beats the Saarlouis Royals 3-0 in the final.

The basketball players of the Rutronik Stars Keltern took revenge and celebrated the championship title for the third time in five years. A good eight weeks after the lost cup final against the Saarlouis Royals, the main round winner struck back, the one-sided best-of-finish final series against the Saarlanders ended 3-0. A 76:62 (45:37) at the Royals brought the decision on Friday evening.

The team led by captain Alexandra Wilke, Olympic participant of Paris, had previously dominated in his two home games (92:54, 93:57) and now did not burn anything in the city garden hall. After 2018, 2021 and 2023 it is the fourth championship title, which remained loyal to the stars of trainer Matea Tavic to their two -year rhythm.

Keltern had lost the final series against Liga Neuling Alba Berlin last year, but was not to be stopped this time. After just two defeats in the main round, a 3-0 in the quarter-finals over the owners of Angels Nördlingen and a 3-2 in the semi-finals over the Girolive Panthers Osnabrück. Saarlouis had moved into the final by a 3-2 against Alba.

For the Rutronik Stars, it is the sixth title after the cup wins 2020 and 2021.
