Fruit to stay in Munich
Andreas Obst’s contract with FC Bayern is expiring. However, the world and European champion is to remain with the Munich team.

World and European champion Andreas Obst has been playing for FC Bayern for almost five years, and the German basketball champions are determined to prevent his departure. “We will make every effort to keep him here in Munich for a long time,” said President Herbert Hainer to MagentaSport before the EuroLeague game against Valencia Basket (93:89). Obst’s three-year contract, signed in March 2023, expires at the end of the season.
Obst is “a figure of identification,” “one of the best German players,” and “one of the best three-point shooters in the EuroLeague,” according to Hainer. The 71-year-old is optimistic about the negotiations: “FC Bayern has a lot to throw into the pot.” Hainer is “convinced that we will still see Andi Obst with us in the future.”
The guard moved from ratiopharm Ulm to Munich in 2021. With Bayern, Obst (29) became champion and cup winner twice each.
