The city player shoots his team against Leicester City on the winning road.
A special goal after a long dry spell: The English offensive player Jack Grialish met for the first time in 16 months for Manchester City in the Premier League – on the anniversary of the death of his younger brother, to whom he devoted the goal.
“This day is always difficult for the family, but I am glad that I scored a goal,” said Geralish after the English master’s 2-0 win against Leicester City: “My mother and my father were here. It was great to score and win.” Geralish brother Keelan died in 2000 at the age of only nine months.
The 29-year-old Geralish experiences a difficult season. He was used again in the league against Leicester for the first time since December last year. He scored the lead after two minutes from a short distance.
“I can’t imagine how difficult it was, but it’s nice to be with his family,” said coach Pep Guardiola, who wants to reach the Champions League with his team after an extremely complicated season: “He scored a goal and made a good game. I am happy for him. I know that it is not easy if you don’t play so often.”
City temporarily climbed to fourth place in the table, but has played a game more than the direct competitors Newcastle United and FC Chelsea.
