“Two weeks in Livigno. First training course with baby,” Hettich-Walz wrote on Instagram under a post about her time in Italy.

“Collected many training hours and kilometers, ate a lot of pasta and drank espresso,” she added to numerous pictures, most of which showed her training with teammates.

Her daughter Karlotta was also there, although not at training.

Before her forced break, the 29-year-old was one of the best German biathletes. She celebrated great successes, especially with the German women’s relay team, such as the silver medal at the 2021 World Championships. In 2024 she also won individual World Championship silver. She can also look back on numerous top 10 placements in the World Cup.

“In the 2025/2026 season, my goal is to be part of the team again and take part in the Olympic Games in Milan. There are now many examples of athletes who have successfully returned to the top of the world after pregnancy – that would also be my plan,” she revealed before the birth.
