German ski jumper pulls Reissleine

The world record changes after eight years. The German record has lasted since 2017.

The German ski jumper Anna Hollandt takes a longer break due to mental problems. In an emotional statement, it provides deep insights.

Ski jumper Anna Hollandt will interrupt her career indefinitely. The 28-year-old turned to her fans on Tuesday with emotional words and informed this on Instagram.

The reason was the reason for the German mental problems. “I had to end the season early because I noticed that I mentally ride myself into the sh ****,” she wrote from her under a children’s photo.

“If someone of the little six-year-old Anna had said that the sport she just started, at some point to question her life, is not happy, and so much doubt that it hurts to tear, she would have looked at them with her miserable grin and answered cheekily that the nonsense talks and of course not believed to him,” said the DSV jumper at first.

“To prevent deep mental problems”

But now she sees it differently – Hollandt pulled the tear and ended her season prematurely.

Her last ski jumping, which was still called Rupprecht by 2024, had in Villach in January. After she had finished 28th there, she never took part in any further competition.

“In order to prevent or not to deepen deep mental problems, I took the step and have worked a lot on me since then, got distance from the sports world and enjoyed what life has to offer without sport,” she said now.

Hollandt celebrated her greatest success at the Ski World Cup in the mixed team. In 2021 and 2023 she won World Cup gold.

However, the 28-year-old does not want to end her career yet. “Despite this, I noticed that it is not over yet with me and the ski jumping, since a flame is still burning deep inside me,” said Hollandt combative.
