German success at Curling World Cup

The German duo is the next victory at the curling World Cup in Canada.

After the false start to the Curling World Cup, the German Mixed double won its second victory. Pia-Lisa Schöll and Joshua Sutor struck the still winless Danish duo 7-1 and thus have at least theoretical chances in Fredericton/Canada.

With a 2: 3 balance sheet, Schöll/Sutor are in sixth place in Zehnergruppe A, Olympic champion Italy (5: 0), host Canada, Scotland and Sweden (all 4: 1) are significantly better. Finland is fifth (3: 2).

German duo initially with clear bankruptcy

Only the top three teams from seasons A and B reach the KO phase, the group winners move directly into the semi-finals. The seven best nations secure a starting place for the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina 2026.

Schöll and Sutor initially had to accept clear defeats against Canada, Italy and Finland, then against China the turn (7: 6). Germany now meets Sweden, South Korea, Scotland and the Netherlands.
