Coach legend Fabio Capello once again found clear words for City coach Pep Guardiola. “His arrogance cost him several Champions League titles,” the Italian clarified in an interview with El Mundo .
Capello explained why he agreed: “The Champions League he won with City was the only one in which he tried nothing strange in the crucial games. But in all the other years, in Manchester and Munich, he always wanted to be the protagonist on the crucial days. He changed things and came up with so that he could say: ‘Not the players win, but me.’ “

Despite his criticism, Capello emphasized that he respected Guardiola as a trainer and treasures. But: The Spaniard has “even if it is not his fault, football is causing an enormous damage”.

For ten years, many coaches had tried to copy Guardiola’s Tiki-Taka tactics, explained Capello. “This ruined Italian football, he lost its character. I always said: ‘Stop, you don’t have the Guardiola players.’ “
Capello complains that this would have lost many games of tension. Many spectators are now enough to look at the highlights of a game: “Why should you look at horizontal passports without fighting and readiness for 90 minutes?”
There has been a tense relationship between Guardiola and Capello for a long time. Already in the 2002/03 season, when Guardiola played under Capello at AS Rome, there were conflicts.
