At the club World Cup in the USA, the team manager and Manchester City can improve their season balance.
Pep Guardiola is humble. Manchester City’s team manager believes that even in the event of winning the club world championship, he and his players would not have earned a bonus. “Not even a watch,” said the 54-year-old.
Due to a triumph at the tournament in the USA (June 14th to July 13th), the Premier League club could at least improve its miserable balance this season.
Pep Guardiola wants to do without a bonus at the club World Cup
“When we win, I don’t know how much money there is, but it is for the club,” said Guardiola: “The manager, the players, the entire team – we don’t earn it.”
The winner of the controversial tournament receives prize money of up to the equivalent of 115 million euros. A total of one billion US dollars (926 million euros) are distributed to the 32 participating clubs.
Only two titles in disappointing season
In the league, City is in a disappointing fifth place, the eight -time master has left the Champions League and the English League Cup.
The Champions League winner of 2023 still has a title chance at the club World Cup and in the FA Cup alone. In the cup quarter-finals, the Guardiola team will be performing at the AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
