This is surprising: The NBA franchise Denver Nuggets has separated from its coach Michael Malone. This was confirmed by the Colorado team in an official statement. It also announced that General Manager Calvin Booth’s contract would not be extended.
Malone led the Nuggets to the championship title in the 2023 season. He was a nugget coach for 10 years – now the previous assistant coach David Adelman is requested as interim coach.
“This decision was not made lightly and very carefully evaluated,” said Nuggets boss Josh Kroenke: “We only do this with the intention of giving our group the best chance to fight the NBA championship 2025 and bring another title to Denver and our fans everywhere.”

Kroenke admitted that the timing of this decision was unhappy. But just a necessary step.
The nuggets are the current number four in the west and are clearly on playoff course. Finally, however, they caught four defeats in a row – sometimes after significant tours.
In general, the trend is in the wrong direction: since the Allstar break, the Nuggets have only been able to win eleven games, 13 were lost.
Nevertheless, the Malone-off is the same as ESPN writes. NBA expert Bobby Marks summarized the development as follows: “I promised that the word ‘shocking’ after Luka (the surprising Doncic trade to the Lakers, note) is deleted from my vocabulary, but this is stunning.”
