His hardest season: Guardiola scourges herself

According to Xabi Alonso's announcement, Pep Guardiola is impressed by the farewell to Bayer Leverkusen, impressed by the work of his compatriot at Werkelf.

Manchester City’s success -led Starcoach took responsibility for the weak season of his team in clear words.

Star coach Pep Guardiola has taken responsibility for the highly moderate course of the season at England’s dethroned master Manchester City with open-hearted self-criticism.

“It was definitely the most difficult season of my time as a trainer. It could have been worse, but I wasn’t good enough to find a way out,” the Spaniard explained before the important Premier League game of the sky blue on Saturday afternoon at the already departed FC Southampton.

Winning is easier than losing

Last autumn, Guardiola’s team got into a deep crisis, not least due to the serious injury to midfield star Rodri.

After the early defended deflection and the Playoff KO in the Champions League against last year’s winner Real Madrid, the former national team captain Ilkay Gündogan and his colleagues are still fighting for their usual stability in the race for the renewed qualification for the European premier class.

“It has been much more difficult than in the past few years when we played for titles. It is much more challenging on the emotional level, in preparation, for the mood, for everything,” Guardiola described his problems in the past few months.

“That would be a very great wage”

Against this background, the former master coach of the German record title bearer Bayern Munich was disappointed: “We no longer had any energy, and I didn’t find a way that the players feel good again and win games.”

Guardiola, who has led Mancity to six championship titles, two cup victories and two years ago to the first triumph in the Champions League, does not yet completely see the messed-up season of the Citizens: “We can still reach the Champions League, which would be a very, very great wage and win the FA-Cup.”

In the final of the prestigious cup competition, Manchester will meet the Ligarivals Crystal Palace on May 17th in the London Wembley Stadium.
