Ski long runner Ida Dahl has found remarkably open words about her mental and health problems.
“The season 24/25 is coming to an end, and I could not have imagined what kind of hell this year would be in my wildest dreams,” wrote the Swede on Instagram.
The 29-year-old gave emotional insights: “I can no longer count how often I broke out in tears when my legs no longer wear me, my heart races, dizziness and tiredness paralyzed me and I have the feeling that someone is sitting on my breast.”
“How many times I thought I will die”
She had the feeling that her body let her down and felt lonely despite the existing support of her environment. “I don’t want to know how many times I thought and accepted that I will die,” she found drastic words for her inside. She wishes no other experiences.
Nevertheless, the Swede remains loyal to sport and wants to attack again. Dahl had made a name for herself in the Ski Classics since her debut in 2013 at the Scandinavian Cup in Ă–stersund. In the 2019/20 season she landed in seventh place, in 2022 she celebrated her World Cup debut in the skiing cross-country skiing.
