Niclas Füllkrug missed a victory against the bottom of the table with West Ham United. After the game, the DFB striker becomes clear.
After the unsatisfactory 1-1 against Premier League conclusion FC Southampton, national player Niclas Füllkrug did not put a leaf out of her mouth.
“I am very, very angry that we played like this, because we had a few minutes in which we showed what we can do against such an opponent,” emphasized West Ham United at Sky Sports and became clear: “But I’m sorry, we were shit. I am very angry.”
When Füllkrug was replaced in the 80th minute, his team was in the lead with Jarrod Bowen’s goal (47th). Lesley Ugochukwu (90.+3) ensured the last second.
Fill mug: that’s not how it works
Fill mug continued: “We can play with the ball for 65 minutes, even if it is not perfect. But we try to play. We try to create opportunities, we try to score a goal. Then we shoot a goal and then half of the team tries to score a goal again, and the other half of the team tries to defend very deeply.” That is not the way “how it works”.
The DFB striker demanded: “We have to find a way to hold together to have an idea where we want to go, what we want to do. The coach has clear ideas about what he wants, but we have to do everything, everyone has to do it.”
West Ham is currently taking 16th place in the Premier League. The distance to the relegation ranks is a comfortable 15 points, but the “hammers” have imagined more.
Since moving last summer from BVB to London, Füllkrug has played 15 games to date, in which he scored three goals and recorded two more goals. The 32-year-old was thrown back several times this season.
