Giannis Antetokounmpo gritted his teeth against the Denver Nuggets. But now the superstar will probably be missing from his Bucks for the time being.
The Milwaukee Bucks will apparently have to do without their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo for the time being. The two-time MVP played through the 100:102 game against the Denver Nuggets despite a calf injury from the first quarter – and subsequently sounded less than optimistic.
“After the MRI, they will probably tell me that I have strained something,” said Antetokounmpo, who scored 22 points in 32 minutes.

Antetokounmpo now expects a longer forced break. “I felt it almost the whole game, but I didn’t want to stop. I will work hard to come back. That will probably be late February, early March,” said the 31-year-old.
Bucks coach Rivers is concerned about Antetokounmpo
The Greek player had already been sidelined by calf injuries last December and in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
“This calf keeps causing problems, which is worrying,” said Bucks coach Doc Rivers, especially with a view to the playoff battle.
However, Antetokounmpo “insisted on continuing to play. Personally, I didn’t like what I saw,” Rivers added.
