Lautaro Martinez (2nd VL) cheers with Inter
Defending champion Inter Milan has only troubled the mandatory task against the bottom light AC Monza in Serie A. The team of coach Simone Inzaghi fought for a 3: 2 (1: 2) success after a 0-2 deficit on Saturday evening. World champion Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal in the final phase (77th).
Samuele Birindelli (32nd) and Keita Balde (44th) had previously shot the outsider in the lead. The former Bundesliga professionals Marko Arnautovic (45.+1) and Hakan Calhanoglu (64th) brought Inter back into play before Martinez took the decision. Monza goalkeeper Stefano Turati had parried the ball, but just behind the goal line.
In this way, league leaders Inter (61 points) expanded the lead over the SSC Naples (57) on the 28th matchday for the time being to four points. Like the third in the table Atalanta Bergamo (55), Napoli could still follow suit on Sunday.
