Klinsmann: Club World Cup “A stroke of luck for the players”

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and all other participants will not only benefit economically, says the 60-year-old.

Former national coach Jürgen Klinsmann considers the upcoming club World Cup (June 14th to July 13th) to be a “stroke of luck”. It will be “fascinating how clubs from different continents collide. Every club will benefit from it, sporty as well as economically,” said the 1990 football champion in an interview with Transfermarkt.de.

The Wahl-American lives in Los Angeles and belongs to the FIFA Technical Study Group, which will take a close look at the tournament games of the competition using data analyzes. “The chance to test the venues and conditions in the USA a year before the World Cup is a stroke of luck for many players,” said Klinsmann. The 60-year-old is certain: “The Americans are very programmed on events. Nothing will be missing.”

Klinsmann’s ex-club Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund take part in the club World Cup as German representatives.
