The feud between Marc-André ter Stegen and FC Barcelona is becoming increasingly complex. The parties’ positions are hardening.
Marc-André ter Stegen’s standing at FC Barcelona is diminishing. After the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the German keeper, the conflict is getting dirtier.
As Mundo Deportivo reported, ter Stegen has refused to sign the consent to transmit his medical records to the LaLiga medical commission so that they can review them and determine the duration of his disability.

Ter Stegen Underwent Back Surgery
If the 32-year-old were to sign, the club could use part of ter Stegen’s salary to register new players due to the long absence after back surgery. But the German refuses and makes life difficult for the club.
According to the report, Barca believes that there are legal loopholes in this regard, as ter Stegen’s behavior harms the club.
Barca bosses reportedly cancel meeting
Jordi Ardevol from the LaLiga commission put a damper on this consideration, as he confirmed: “The player’s consent is essential for the medical data to be processed outside the club.”
Accordingly, the Barca bosses must manage to convince ter Stegen to sign. However, this will not happen in a personal conversation for the time being, because as AS reported, a meeting was scheduled, but it was canceled by the club at short notice. “The indignation in the executive suite is great,” it says in the article.
The Catalans are now said to be examining further legal steps and want to inform ter Stegen about the legal consequences. One thing becomes very clear: There is currently an ice age between the fronts and they are not on good terms with each other.
