“Lack of respect”: Real Madrid about playing the game angry

The Spanish football champion lasted the last time with less than 72 hours of break between two games.

After countless complaints about the referees, Real Madrid has identified a new annoyance: the game approaches in Laliga. Specifically, the World Club would like to get at least three days of break after European Cup games. “We will never play a game again without a 72 -hour break,” said coach Carlo Ancelotti after the 2-1 (2: 1) at FC Villarreal: “That was the last time.”

On Wednesday evening, the royal had toasted the city derby in the round of 16 of the Champions League at Atlético Madrid at 9 p.m. After the extension and the nerve -wracking victory in the penalty shootout (4: 2), the game ended around 11:45 p.m. On Saturday afternoon it continued in Laliga at 4.30pm. There were almost 67.5 hours between the kick -off times – despite previous complaints.

“We asked Laliga twice to change the game time and they didn’t do anything,” said Ancelotti. The World Football Association FIFA recommends at least 72 hours of break between the games to protect the health of the players.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois described the approach as a “lack of respect” that it was “not normal” to play at that time. Ancelotti was “proud” that his team survived the “potential stumbling block” thanks to the double pack of superstar Kylian Mbappé.

For Real, the symptoms of kick -off times are only the latest annoyance. In the past few weeks and months, the World Club has also been in the constant dispute with the impartial and the referee committee of the Spanish Football Association RFEF.

Again and again Madrid had criticized supposed wrong decisions about the official club channels. In a four -sided public fire letter, the referee was even accused of corruption, and there was a crisis summit between association representatives and those responsible for Real.
