LFC coach Arne Slot is resting Wirtz along with several other stars such as Hugo Ekitiké, Alexander Isak, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. The quintet is not in the squad at all.
Compared to the 2:3 defeat in the Premier League against Brentford FC, Slot is making a total of ten changes to his starting lineup.
Already in the round of 16 (2:1 against Southampton FC), Slot had done without some stars. Ekitké was substituted for Isak at halftime and scored the winning goal in the final phase (85th minute). However, both strikers are not part of the team on Wednesday evening.
