Manchester City is on the verge of a double transfer coup. Pep Guardiola threatened to resign if the squad size increased.
After a disappointing season without a title, Manchester City is apparently continuing its transfer offensive unabated. The English top club is on the verge of a spectacular double deal for around 110 million euros.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tijani Reijnders (currently AC Milan) and probably Rayan Cherki (Olympique Lyon) will move to Manchester.
Rayan Cherki is probably about to move to Manchester City
Cherki should come for around 40 million euros. Recently, the 21-year-old offensive midfielder already described ManCity as a “realistic option”. According to Romano, the club has verbally agreed on a contract with the French international – who Borussia Dortmund had also been intensively trying to get.
Offer to Lyon – Agreement with Milan Star
Now an official offer to Lyon should follow in the next few hours. There have recently been talks between the clubs.
According to Romano, the negotiations with Reijnders are even further advanced. There should already be a basic agreement between City and Milan for the 26-year-old Dutchman. The Athletic also reports an agreement.
The deal is said to be worth 70 million euros.
City had already invested a lot of money in the winter. Well over 200 million euros were spent on players like Omar Marmoush, Nico González, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah.

Curious: Coach Pep Guardiola even threatened to resign a few weeks ago if his squad was further inflated. “I can’t train 24 players and every time I select the squad, leave four, five or six of them at home in Manchester because they are not allowed to play. That’s not going to happen. I told the club that.”
The Spaniard added: “I don’t want to have to put five or six players on ice. I don’t want that. I will resign. Reduce the squad – and I’ll stay.”
